So you will have your own freshwater tropical aquarium fish, but do not know where to start? Fortunately, I will explain what steps you should take to setup a fish tank and select a species of fish that will adapt to the environment, you have planned. There are two types of tropical fish, and they are saltwater tropical fish and freshwater tropical fish. Here I will explain the ways to setup a tank containing freshwater tropical fish.

Aquarium Cycling Before putting your pet tropical fish in your fish tank, your fish tank have to go through a phase, known as the aquarium cycling. It is important this phase is complete before you put your fish in your fish tank, otherwise you can run into several problems. I know it might be tempting to go directly into it and immediately put your fish in the tank, where there is water in there, but hang on for just a moment! The Nitrogen cycle is the first sentence of aquarium cycling, and means to obtain water from all the excess nitrogen that it has, before the water is fit for animal life. Sounds a little complicated? Do not worry. Your best way to prepare the water in your fish tank, so you can place tropical fish in it is by planting your tank. This means that a lot of good sea plants in your tank, which helps to remove excess nitrogen and make the water suitable for your fish to swim in.
The next thing you need is a filter that is able to absorb foreign materials and particles from the water, so it remains fresh and recycled at all times. You can also consider purchasing an air stone, which comes out to your air filter. This will give your fish tank to show different bubble effects.
With regard to the selection of the actual species of freshwater tropical fish, you have to be aware that some species do not come together with one another. It is not uncommon for some species to frighten or even eat other species. The last thing you want to do is spend a small fortune acquiring the rarest and most exotic of freshwater tropical fish only to have them eaten by some anti-social tropical fish breed not think they are as beautiful as you do!
When your fish tank is configured and you have chosen the types of fish, you want to put in your tank, all that remains is literally putting them in! Please note that feeding patterns and lighting can affect the way your fish live and behave. Be aware of potential fish and good and bad types of fish, food, which you can feed a particular species of tropical fish.
